LEGO WeDo Academy
Dear Parents,
The West Park Academy will be hosting a math enrichment unit from January 31 – March 30th 2011. During this time the students in the GT program, as well as a few students selected for this enrichment unit, will be studying participating in a LEGO course using the WeDo LEGO robotics construction and programming set.
This unit is made possible because of a grant given to us by the Idaho Qwest foundation. The Qwest Foundation for Education Grant is awarded for innovative uses of technology in the classroom. One of the purposes of this grant is to increase the use of technology in the classroom by providing equipment to improve student performance.
One requirement given to the recipients of the grant is to share the story about how this contribution has indeed positively impacted student learning. Our West Park story will be shared in this section of the Academy's website. So, take some time and browse through our pages.
